Perched atop Farley Mountain, Redstone Village stands strong as Huntsville’s only locally owned and operated not-for-profit Life Care senior living community, sponsored by the Redstone Military Retirement Residence Association. The founders of Redstone Village, including Colonel Lee James and Retired Major General George E. Turnmeyer, originally envisioned a place where military personnel connected to Redstone Arsenal could fulfill their retirement dreams without the worry of future health care costs. It was soon decided to include the civilian population in addition to military personnel, as Redstone Arsenal and greater Huntsville were truly an integrated military and civilian community.
In keeping with the vision of Colonel Lee and General Turnmeyer, Redstone Village opened in 2004 as a Life Care community, offering the continuum of care that remains steadfast as our foundation. We’ve since evolved through numerous campus expansions, adding a wide variety of living options, amenities and comprehensive services.
